Association’s Guarantee and Appointment CommitteeArbitration awards are determined either by one arbitrator or a tribunal made up of 3 arbitrators. Aeade arbitrators are renowned for their professional prestige: judges who have either retired or who are on an extended leave of absence, professors, doctors, lawyers, etc.

Arbitrators are chosen by the Association’s Guarantee and Appointment Committee. Their decisions (arbitration awards) within the framework of any dispute carry the same executive weight as a sentence passed by a judge.

Various factors are taken into account when appointing a suitable arbitrator, including his/her training and experience, the complexity of the conflict, the value of each claim and the availability of the arbitrator.

Furthermore, arbitrators are obliged to provide information about any matter that may affect their independence and impartiality both prior to and during any given arbitration proceedings.

Aeade is a school for young arbitrators, bringing added value to the Association whilst enhancing the promotion and development of arbitration. A wide variety of arbitration proceedings are handled covering a vast number of sectors. Giving young solicitors the opportunity of starting to arbitrate in proceedings of lesser-value and low-profile claims enables them to get hands on experience and to develop their arbitration skills, thus guaranteeing the availability of a good portfolio of high-quality and experienced arbitrators in Spain.
